A Court of Silver Flames – Cover Reveal and Release Date Update

About A Court of Silver Flames

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly – proud, swift to anger and slow to forgive. And since the war – since being made High Fae against her will – she’s struggled to forget the horrors she endured and find a place for herself within the strange and deadly Night Court.
The person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred, winged warrior who is there at Nesta’s every turn. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. And when they are forced to train in battle together, sparks become flame.
As the threat of war casts its shadow over them once again, Nesta and Cassian must fight monsters from within and without if they are to stand a chance of halting the enemies of their court. But the ultimate risk will be searching for acceptance – and healing – in each other’s arms.

I am so excited for the release of the next installment of A Court of Thorns and Roses. I love relationships that start off with bickering and Nessian ticks all those boxes.

THERE IS NO WAY THEY AREN’T MATES!!!!

I can’t wait to see where SJM will take Nessian.

I am ecstatic that Nesta and Cassian are finally getting their own book. I only read the books and joined the fandom once the original trilogy and ACOFAS were all already released, that being exactly just over a year ago. But once I read the first book, I was hooked. I finished all 4 books in 2 months.

The moment Nesta and Cassian met at the Archeron Estate, back in ACOMAF, I shipped it. And when I heard that they would get their own solo book, or at least a book in which they were the main protagonists, I was overjoyed. A whole year later, and I can finally see it coming to fruition.

Nesta and Cassian

Cassian, although being the tall, dark, handsome and definitely dangerous Illyrian that he is, clearly has a soft spot Nesta. I’m sure he thought her to be a fun challenge in the beginning of ACOMAF, but its pretty obvious that he feels more for her. Especially after ACOWAR and ACOFAS. And we know she feels something for him too, after the way she acted when he was injured in ACOMAF.

We all know how much Nesta has gone through, what she has lost and what she has deprived herself of. She’s not doing well. She’s depressed and angry and doesn’t want to want or need anyone to be there for her.

At least on the surface

I’m hoping that SJM explores the aftermath of the trauma that Nesta and Cassian have experienced over the last 2 -3 books. I would like not only their relationship, but also their thoughts, experiences, desires and fears to be explored in depth. I want to see how the Archeron Sisters make peace with one another, and (surprisingly) how Elaine is coping. I want to see what happened to Lucien as well as Mor. ACOFAS felt more like a Christmas special, than anything else. And as lovely as it was to visit the characters and get a glimpse of what they’ve been up to since the end of ACWAR, it would be even better to get a full explanation and in depth exploration of the aftermath.

I’m not going to lie, I have very very high expectations.

The Cover

I loved the old covers.

An ode to… A Court of Thorns and Roses – Book Love Blog

When the new covers were revealed, I wasn’t the biggest fan of them, but I also didn’t really care.

Then the cover for ACOSF was released and I heard that there won’t be one for the old covers, and suddenly I was no longer so indifferent to it anymore.

I don’t hate the new cover. But I also don’t necessarily like it. No hate to the tattoo artists that designed the cover art, but there’s just something about the old covers that goes so well with the feel of the book. It set the tone perfectly for what you’d expect to be inside.

Also, the new covers are way too colourful for my liking, excluding ACOSF. But if I get the one, I have to get them all.

I much more would have preferred if the new covers all looked like A Court of Thorns and Roses Collector’s Edition.

Final Input

I realize that I wrote a review ACOTAR (which you can read here) and ACOMAF (which you can read here) last year, but never wrote one for ACOWAR or ACOFAS. So I decided to post a poll on my IG to find out if I should reread ACOWAR and write a review before the new release. These were the results:

So I will definitely be writing a review for A Court of Wings and Ruin within the next few months, and hopefully I’ll be able to reread ACOFAS and write a review for that too before February 2021.
